ELT is NOT for Leominster

Programs That Are Already in Place For Leominster

Page history last edited by Sue Olivier 1 yr ago

Currently there are numerous programs and initiatives in place for Leominster, and many are already showing results in terms of increased student performances and raised test scores.  Some of the more recent initiatives such as full-day kindergarten, last year's redistricting, and the implementation of the LEAP (gifted and talented) program at Southeast need adequate time to show results.  Furthermore, there are numerous special education programs also in place that are showing positive results.

Other new programs and initiatives are also in place in the Leominster District and seem to offer the same kinds of opportunities for children as ELT, yet with a more focused approach in terms of target group.  Why not implement some of these existing, optional programs at the elementary levels and look to use them more effectively?

Here are some links to information about the 21st Century Community Learning Centers program and the Afterschool Learning Centers program which are already in place in Leominster.
